What is B.I.S.C.E.P
Blindfolded International Student & Cultural Exchange Program (BISCEP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 to widen the horizons of you between Miami and Bostwana as a cultural exchange program.
The program provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to create well-rounded individuals. International learning and knowledge propel students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives. The immersion program helps students from the United States and Bostwana emerge in the following ways:
- Language acquisition is achieved through practical immersion.
- Awareness and adoption of alternative, multi-faceted approaches to learning. Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Enhanced interest in global issues as well as a broader general knowledge. Through education, empowerment, and exposure students will return energized to accept the challenges of a changing world.
How this program got started?
BISCEP was birthed out of the documentary Blindfolded: How They Hid My Heritage From Me. The creative expression from Edwin Sheppard's research in Botswana and South Africa. The documentary included students' dialogue from Miami Central High School and Ledumang Senior School.

Why participate in an exchange?
